Good afternoon ACFR Contacts,

I'm happy to share that the recording of the 2024 Year-end Close Training is now available on the SARS website! Here is a direct link to the training: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqVhlJXo2cw. Additionally, it can be found on the SARS website here:

Due to the technological delays of getting this up on our website, we've extended the Gold Star Date for those that did not attend the live training and when they need to communicate to their SARS analyst that the training had been viewed. Previously, that date was end of day on Monday, July 1, the revised Gold Star Date is end of day, Monday, July 8.

We'll be updating our Schedule of Key Dates and Gold Star Certificate Criteria to make these revisions soon, but I didn't want there to be any further delays in sharing the recording.

I wanted to follow up on the SARS Year-end Close Training that will be occurring on Wednesday, June 12, at 9:00 am, which I noted below. After much deliberation, we've decided on a 60-minute training covering the following topics:


  *   Welcome, Introductions, and Agency Resources
  *   Year-end Schedule
  *   GASB 100
  *   Disclosure Changes

If you would like to attend in person, please enroll via Workday Learning. The course can be accessed by searching for "SARS" in the Browse Learning Content section:

As a reminder, for those that wish to watch the recording of the training rather than attend the live version, the Gold Star Date to communicate to your SARS analyst that the training has been viewed is Monday, July 1.

I'm excited to share that the FY 2024 Schedule of Key Dates has been posted! Here is a link: https://www.oregon.gov/das/Financial/Acctng/Documents/ch.a.currentyearschedule.pdf.

Most notably is the FY 2024 SARS Year-end Close Training will be held on Wednesday, June 12, beginning at 9:00 am at the Employment Department Auditorium, located at 875 Union Street NE in Salem. As I'm working through the agenda, I do not yet know how long the training will last but I expect it will be between 90-120 minutes. As with the prior year, there will be an option to view a recording of the Year-end Close Training, with a Gold Star requirement to notify your SARS analyst that it's been view no later than Monday, July 1. More information on the training will be coming soon.
