we’ve concluded that agencies should enter the FY 2023 compensated absence information as presented to them by their SARS analyst. While concerns about the adjusted value of accrued leave remains, we do believe the adjusted value of ending leave
is correct, which is of particular importance for the ACFR. We’ll employ alternative measures to report the increases and decreases in compensated absences within the notes to the ACFR for FY 2023. For agencies with external financial reporting requirements
that need to disclose the increases and decreases in compensated absences, please reach out and I’ll be happy to discuss our alternative measures in detail.
