[Address_fit] OGIC Endorses the Address Point Data Standard!

Hi Everyone,

Great news! OGIC unanimously endorsed the Oregon Address Point Data Standard (now v. 1.0) at their meeting on Wednesday 4/30/2025. A copy of the endorsed standard is attached and it will also be linked to the GEO and GEOHub web pages.

I want to thank everyone who helped work on and review this standard. It took a year of effort but all that hard work paid off and the new standard looks great. Several OGIC members complimented our work during the meeting.

The next step will be to start working on an address point stewardship plan later this summer. This will probably be a much shorter document but it will very important because it will lay out the steps needed to assemble and maintain a statewide address point dataset. This Framework dataset has been needed for a long time and finally having one will be critical to many agencies and projects (Census 2030 for one). Also, work is progressing rapidly on the new Building Footprint Data standard led by Matt Williams (DOGAMI).
