Subject: RE: Oregon Reference Summit
Hi Natalie, thanks for reaching out! I was out of town at a conference all week. I tried to recruit my unit manager who runs the info desk and learning commons to present but she said no. I just presented a 20 min talk on our new Studio space<https://www.slideshare.net/filarwilliams/the-studio-at-oregon-state-university-libraries-and-press> - a integrated service for students with the writing center and library. Would that be something relevant here?

Subject: Oregon Reference Summit
Hi Beth,
I am writing to you on behalf of the Oregon Reference Summit<https://answerland.org/news-events/summit/> planning committee. (Hopefully you saw the "save the date" announcement). You have been recommended to me by your colleague Cheryl Middleton as someone "in tune" with reference services statewide.
The Summit is being held June 1st, and we are beginning to put together our program. We will be issuing a call for proposals shortly, but in the meantime we are looking for possible presenters - for both 1-hour programs and for 5-minute lightning talks.
I am contacting you to:
a) See if you may be interested in presenting; and/or
b) Can provide names of others you think may be good presenters.
Possible topics might include:
* The value of reference in the digital era
* Marketing reference services
* Fostering a sense of community through reference interactions
* Answering difficult/unusual reference questions
* Providing reference remotely
* Unique and/or useful reference resources
* Best practices in customer service
Any feedback you can provide will be appreciated.
Thank you!
-Natalie
