I do agree with the “Library Support Staff” over “Library Assistant” verbiage, since the latter is usually an actual job title or classification which may still feel exclusionary to folks in other roles who may wish to attend.

Join us for Oregon’s only conference devoted exclusively to reference work!


The 3rd annual Oregon Reference Summit (OrRS) will be held on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Lane Community College in Eugene. The Oregon Reference Summit is a one-day conference with reference-focused content appropriate for all skill levels, library types, and experiences. It is an excellent opportunity to meet reference staff from around the state face-to-face and exchange ideas.


The OrRS planning committee invites you to submit proposals for 45 minute sessions, 80 minute sessions, and 10 minute lightning talks. Nontraditional librarians, Library Assistants [library workers?], and first time presenters are encouraged to submit!
