[Answerlandvolunteers] Forwarding a Scholarship Opportunity

Good Morning(Afternoon) Answerland Volunteers,

Since there are a number of volunteers that are active MLS/MLIS degree seeking students. I thought I would share the opportunity for a $3000 scholarship below. It's not for reference rather library technology.  Hopefully this information is fruitful for you go-getters already getting experience at Answerland. Thank you all for your works over the past few weeks. I know on my end, the pace has turned up a bit with a new academic term beginning eminently!  Just a quick reminder, do not stress about your Answerland shifts. Remember to reach out to this listserv if it's going to be a stressful upcoming week to ask someone to pick up or trade shifts with you. Also, if you find your schedule is shifting seasonally or permanently, do not hesitate to reach out for adjusting your shift day(s)/time(s).

Tell a LIS Student

LIS students who are interested in a career in library technology can apply for the Larew Memorial Scholarship. The winner will receive a $3,000 check for studying in an ALA Accredited Master of Library Science (MLS) program. The application form is open through March 1, 2023.

We also asked if respondents found the product selected useful:

  *   Mostly = 57.1%
  *   I love it! = 23.8%

When we asked which other products respondents would rather use, 68.4% were good with the one they're using.

A couple of comments from respondents:

  *   "The PM software that is used is the best for the project. If people don't use it, it isn't worth it."
  *   "I think more important than the tool you use is just developing the processes to support its use. Technology can definitely help address problems, but people and workflows around technology are an important piece of the puzzle as well."
