From donna.noonan at state.or.us Wed May 25 16:21:26 2011 From: donna.noonan at state.or.us (Donna NOONAN) Date: Wed, 25 May 2011 16:21:26 -0700 Subject: [ASIST_Network] CEU's for ASIST workshops Message-ID: <4DDD2C85.80FB.00CC.0@DHS.STATE.OR.US> Dear ASIST Trainers, Good news! We (Oregon ASIST trainers) can offer continuing education credits (CEUs) for social workers for attending ASIST workshops in Oregon by getting the necessary information in to the Oregon NASW person and being approved. I (through the Public Health Division) will make the application and pay for the CEUs for the trainings, but I need your help. If you want to offer CEUs for social workers, please send me a short paragraph (no resume's!) describing your qualifications to present on ASIST. Include your name, title, degrees, and a brief statement about your current and former work experience in the topic area (e.g., your position and where you work). I can write a blanket statement for everyone about the LivingWorks' process including the T4T and certification process, but they want a bit of individual information too. Also send me the dates and locations for all ASIST workshops you have planned. Participants who request CE credit will have to complete an NASW conference evaluation and sign a conference roster that shows their completion of the training. Once we are approved to offer the CEUs, we'll get the CE certificates, evaluation forms, and roster prior to the training for interested participants. You will be responsible for getting the evaluations and roster to the NASW office after the training. I don't know how long the process will take - I can't apply until I get your bios and training dates - but it will be good for 12 months once we get approval. I can add training dates each quarter for a small fee and can add new trainers as they become certified. Please send me your BRIEF bio and dates/locations for planned ASIST workshops to start the process. Send me your bio even if you don't have an ASIST planned right now - you'll be on the approved trainer list for the next 12 months. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! Donna Donna G.
