Subject: [ASIST_Network] IMPORTANT - New ASIST Training CEU documents for 2015-16

Dear Oregon ASIST Trainers,
I am very happy to let you know we have been approved to grant 12.5 CEUs for ASIST trainings from Oregon NASW for another 12 months! The new documents are attached. You may use them immediately.

Instructions from Oregon NASW:

1)   CONFERENCE ROSTER:  This Roster must be copied and signed by all attendees requesting  NASW Continuing Education Credit at the start of the conference.   Attendees who sign the roster will be able to receive a CE certificate upon completion of the conference.  Please advise the attendees of this expectation at the beginning of the conference.  Please FORWARD THE ROSTER TO Donna Noonan FOLLOWING THE CONFERENCE (address on form).

2)  CONFERENCE EVALUATION FORMS:  This form must be copied and completed by all those attendees requesting NASW continuing education certificates.  They should be distributed and  collected following completion of the conference.  THESE FORMS MUST ALSO BE FORWARDED TO Donna Noonan.

3)   Also enclosed is your original NASW CE certificate which reflects your approval number and CE  hours for your conference.  You will need to complete the CE certificate, copy the certificates,  and distribute to attendees.

You’ll notice that the Oregon Public Health Division is the “Conference Sponsor.” That is because we applied and paid for the approval to grant CE credits for Oregon ASIST trainings by approved trainers; this is necessary for NASW. Send the completed rosters and evaluations to me – I send them to Oregon NASW in batches.

Oregon NASW credits are applicable to social workers, LPCs. MFTs, and are accepted for addictions counselors and prevention specialists through ACCBO (The Addiction Counselor Certification Board). You may advertise that you offer these credits in your promotional materials.

The new roster, evaluation form, and participant certificate are attached. The new “conference number” is 19-15-171; it is good for the next 12 months. Please save these documents and destroy your old ones.

I've also attached the most recent list of approved trainers - please be sure you and your co-trainer(s) are approved by Oregon NASW to grant credits. If you are not on the list, send me a brief bio (1 paragraph with your education, employment, qualifications.) and I'll send it in for approval. Trainers do not have to have a degree to be approved. If you’ve successfully completed the ASIST T4T – you are qualified! We just have to get one more approval through Oregon NASW.
