Dear Oregon ASIST Trainers,
It is my pleasure to announce that Meghan Crane will be the new "Zero Suicide Program Coordinator" in the position I have had over the last 13+ years! Please welcome her to the Public Health Division as of Wednesday, March 29th in her new role. She also will be the new list administrator for the ASIST_Network listserv. Meghan is an ASIST trainer herself.
Please send your training rosters evaluations to Meghan after Wednesday. I have changed the ASIST CEU documents to reflect Meghan's contact information (attached). I'm also leaving her the information she'll need in order to re-apply for Oregon NASW credits for your trainings. The attached documents are good through mid-July.
Meghan has been the Youth Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the GLS suicide prevention grant in Washington County for nearly 2 years. She is young, bright, and knowledgeable! I am very excited that she will be stepping into this position. She's been working with hospitals and other healthcare organizations in Washington County. She also has been working with law enforcement agencies, with schools, with the Medical Examiner's office, and other groups, in addition to facilitating Washington County's large Suicide Prevention Council that voted early on to adopt Zero Suicide as their aspirational goal within individual organizations and sectors. She has a Masters Degree in Public Health.
I think Meghan is dynamite and you will enjoy working with her! You may reach Meghan as of Wednesday (assuming her computer and systems are operational that quickly) at Meghan.crane at state.or.us<mailto:Meghan.crane at state.or.us>. Her phone number will be 971-673-1023 (same as mine has been, if that helps) and her address will be at the Oregon Public Health Division, 800 NE Oregon, Ste. 730, Portland, OR 97232.
Thank you for all the ASIST trainings you hold! There are 81 approved trainers on the attached list. Since you first started offering Oregon NASW credits to your training participants, you have held 137 ASIST Trainings, giving 848 participants CEs for attending. And you continue to make Oregon and its many communities a Suicide Safer place to live. It has been an honor to work with you. Take good care.
Warmly,
Donna Noonan
