From paige at foundationsccs.com Mon Sep 10 10:58:00 2018 From: paige at foundationsccs.com (Paige OCT) Date: Mon, 10 Sep 2018 10:58:00 -0700 Subject: [ASIST_Network] 2018 ASIST Regional Conference for Oregon & SW Washington Message-ID: <47ba2b574ef23482254108481af996f8@foundationsccs.com> Good Morning Fellow ASIST Trainers~ We are just one month away from the ASIST Regional Conference! It promises to be a great event filled with opportunities for learning, professional development and networking with our fellow co-trainers. Mark you calendars for October 9-10, 2018. One of the highlights of the conference will be hearing the ASIST 11.1 updates directly from Renee Schmidt, Program Design & Development Coordinator with LivingWorks Education. We will have an opportunity to see the new videos, "Cause of Death?" and "It Begins With You" together and Renee will help walk us through the changes as we prepare for our next ASIST workshops. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and clarifications to help make this a smooth and seamless transition. Other updates to ASIST 11.1 include: ~Shifting from the language of "Risk" to "The Focus On Safety" ~Use of Population Specific Data ~Self-Injurious Behavior and the Use of the PAL Model ~Clarity Around Section 5.2. "Trainers have a love-hate relationship with 5.2. Some have abandoned it altogether, while others have replaced it with various and interesting non-standard things that may or may not meet the purpose and goals. Step 5.2 is as important to the integrity of the workshop as is 2.4 and 4.2. Before your next workshop review 5.2 and be determined to make this short, elegant task one of your best workshop deliverables." ~More Opportunity For Discussion Around Our Veteran Population ~The New Workshop Report you'll have the opportunity to upgrade to ASIST 11.1 with Renee Schmidt. All trainers are required to upgrade, so join us as we work through the new material and view the new videos together! Please find attached the conference flyer and schedule.
