Thank you Meghan. It is terrific to be able to offer CEUs for ASIST without having to apply and pay for this individually.
Gary

Subject: [ASIST_Network] Updated and REVISED Oregon NASW CE Conference Number, Forms and Submission Instructions
Good Afternoon ASIST Trainers,
I hope that you are staying well during the challenging and unusual time; especially with having limited capacity to provide ASIST trainings. I am sure many of you are missing providing ASIST in your community. I hope that you have connected with Tim Glascock, Oregon Statewide ASIST/safeTALK Coordinator (Cell: 503-367-3754; Office: 503-399-7201; tglascock at aocmhp.org<mailto:tglascock at aocmhp.org>). Tim has been leading the monthly Oregon ASIST and safeTALK learning collaborative for several month now. This is a great way to connect with fellow trainers, discuss how people are approaching training efforts to ensure safety during this time, and hear about state suicide prevention efforts and opportunities.
Tim has secured reapproval by the Oregon Chapter of NASW for certified trainers to provide 12.5 CEs to ASIST participants for another year!
The new conference number is 19-20-174. Please use the new forms (attached) and delete your old ones. The new forms conference number should be used for all trainings starting on 9/25/20 and after.
Trainers cannot offer CEs unless they have been approved. In order to provide NASW CEs, you must be certified by Oregon NASW. A list of approved trainers is attached. If you or a training partner are not certified, please send Tim Glascock (tglascock at aocmhp.org<mailto:tglascock at aocmhp.org>) an email with a brief bio and ASIST Trainer Number. Tim will submit this to Oregon NASW for their approval. Once approval has been received, Tim will communicate that you are now able to provide NASW CEs to participants. All trainers providing an ASIST training need to be certified to provide CEs.
Below are revised instructions on how to submit Oregon NASW CE paperwork. Please review to ensure you have understanding of the revised requirements:
1) Roster form - every participant who wants NASW CEs needs to sign and print their name on this form. Send it to Tim after the training.
2) Evaluation form - every participant who wants NASW CEs needs to complete an evaluation form. Send them to Tim after the training. (It seems to work best to give them their certificates at the same time they hand in this form to be sure to get all of them.) In order to ensure we continue to get approved for CEs, the number of evaluation forms need to match the number of signatures on the roster form.
3) Certificate of Completion for Oregon NASW CEs. Fill this out and give to participants. This is how they keep track of their own CEs.
4) Send the completed roster and evaluation forms for each training to Tim Glascock. You DO NOT have to send the originals to Tim by mail. You can scan and send them to Tim by email.
PLEASE NOTE that the forms list the Oregon Public Health Division as the "conference sponsor." Leave this wording as is - it's there because we (Public Health Division) applied for and obtained approval for Oregon ASIST training participants to get these credits. In other words, we sponsor the CE process for Oregon ASIST trainings. The new training "Conference Number," 19-20-174, is valid for these trainings, by Oregon NASW approved trainers, for a year (thru Sept. 24, 2021).
You may advertise that you offer NASW CEs in your promotional materials. These credits also are accepted for LPC's and other professional counselors and for alcohol and drug prevention specialists and treatment counselors through ACCBO (the Addiction Counselor Certification Board).
