RE: 2008-09 High Cost Disability and Federal ARRA Reporting

Good afternoon everyone:

I just wanted to give a brief update and send a friendly reminder to those that have not submitted their 3rd Quarter 2009-10 Recovery Act Reporting data. Hopefully you remembered the collection closes on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, and as of noon today, 98 districts had completed their SFSF collection -- that's just about half of the total. I suspect the low number of responders, with only 3 business days before the collection closes, is likely due to Spring Break, so I hope to see a spike in completed data collections early next week. To date we have had 100% reporting compliance in the previous collections, so please keep up the great work and thank you in advance for your cooperation to complete this very important reporting requirement for the federal stimulus funds.

Also, in case you hadn't noticed, I have posted the 2008-2009 High Cost Disability (HCD) Grant calculations based on actual expenditures at the following link: http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=1363 The data can be found under the HCD section in the middle of the page. The most current link for the 2008-09 data will have the 3/23/10 date in the title. I encourage everyone to review their data in the spreadsheet to ensure it's correct. I will be posting an update to this sheet to account for any corrections in the future and will again make an announcement. Once the data has been finalized and the payments disbursed, there will not be any opportunity to reconcile for late submissions, so please take a few moments to review your data.

I will be posting updates to the State School Fund (SSF) estimates for all three years in the very near future, so stay tune to the News Announcements. For those of you not familiar with the RSS feature on the website, I might suggest to click on the little orange rectangular box with the letters RSS in the middle to learn more. This feature will notify you when I post new News Announcements on the SSF websites - that way you don't have to keep checking back every so often to see if I've posted anything new. Hopefully this feature will save you some time.

That's all for now and hopefully you were able to take some time away from the office this week. I hope all is well; take care everyone.
