Education Program Specialist 2 (Multiple Positions Available)
$61,176.00 - $89,496.00 Annually
The Oregon Department of Education is recruiting for four (4) full-time Education Program Specialist 2 positions. These positions are located with the Office of Educational Improvement and Innovation at the Oregon Department of Education in Salem, Oregon.
The four positions are described as follows:
Oregon Early Reading Program
This position will support schools, districts, and community-based organizations in implementing evidence-based practice to improve early literacy. This will include work with priority and focus schools, and implementing high quality reading instruction and protocols that identify, support, and serve students who are at risk of not reading at grade level early and effectively (Response to Intervention programs).
STEM
This position will support schools, districts, post-secondary institutions, and non-profits to create or expand regional STEM networks and schools and programs focused on STEM and career and technical education.
Educator Effectiveness
This position will support the expansion of the beginning teacher and administrator mentor program, the school district collaboration program, and provide regional training, professional development, and technical support to support full implementation of the Educator Evaluation and Support systems in 197 school districts required by Senate Bill 290.
Guidance and Support for Post-Secondary Aspirations
This position will support the implementation of grants to school districts or non-profits to provide services to students in grades 6-10 who are not making satisfactory progress towards a diploma. This position will also manage the process and support the implementation of dual credit programs or programs that provide developmental education for students in high school or in the first two years of post-secondary education.
