[Busmgrs] 2011-12 Estimates

Dear Business Managers,

The 2011-12 SSF Estimates have been posted online. The district estimates are available here: http://www.ode.state.or.us/services/ssf/2011_12-ssf-estimate-as-of-3-21-13-1525hrs-annual-adm-update.pdf. The ADMw breakout for the district estimates is available here: http://www.ode.state.or.us/services/ssf/2011_12-ssf-admw-breakout-of-3-21-13-1525hrs.pdf. Finally, the ESD estimates are available here: http://www.ode.state.or.us/services/ssf/esd-11_12-estimate-as-of-3-21-13-1525hrs.pdf. These estimates include 2011-12 annual ADM. Actual Expenditures and Revenues will be included when the information becomes available.

As you can see these estimates are different from the other estimates. The reason is simple, 2011-12 straddles the old estimates and the new estimates. The straddle occurs because 2011-12 uses 2010-11 as its extended ADMw.

2010-11 extended ADMw was calculated using the old method. The old method combined all of the charter and non-charter ADMw into one number. The other complicating factor is that 2010-11 is closed as far as changes to the State School Fund Formula are concerned. Thus, we are leaving 2010-11 as it was presented in the last estimate of May 9, 2012. We are doing this is to ensure continuity as far as 2010-11 is concerned. The ADMw breakout part of the estimate only breaks out 2011-12 ADMw. To review the breakout of 2010-11 ADMw, we ask that you review the previously published estimate, much as you did in the past.

As far as 2011-12 is concerned, we continue to break out the ADMw into charter and non-charter schools to comply with the changes in the statute going forward. These numbers are broken out into their component parts and then added together and compared to calculate the extended ADMw of the district.

Please remember that 2010-11 is kept at the district level and thus there is no ADMw break for that year nor is there a listing by charter and non-charter schools on the summary part of the estimate. To get ADMw for 2010-11 please review the May 9, 2012 estimate for 2010-11.
