[Busmgrs] 2015-16 Estimates

Dear Business Managers,

The 2015-16 estimates have finally been posted to the website. They can be found at the following links:

The 2015-16 Estimates include the following:
1.      The Co-Chair's $7.235 billion budget is the basis for state funding
2.      The Co-Chair's proposed increase to the High Cost Disability Grant to a total of $35 million per year is included
3.      The Co-Chair's budget is split 49%/51% over the biennium
4.      Full-day kindergarten as reported by the districts in the 2015-16 Estimate of Membership and Revenue is included
5.      Statewide ADMw is estimated at 700,000
6.      All district updates up to Friday February 19 are included
7.      2013 SAIPE data is included for poverty
8.      Local revenue was estimated to increase 3%. This is based in part on the data reported by the school districts on their estimates of local revenue change. This is less than what Legislative Revenue Office is reporting, but more in line with what the districts are reporting.

All other aspects of the estimates are based on current law. Thus, while there are many proposals to change the formula, only current law is used to form the estimate. The major exceptions being listed above.

The tentative upcoming schedule for releases will be the March payment with the Facility Grant, 2014-15 estimate with second period ADM, and 2013-14 with annual ADM.
