To be eligible for reimbursement the school district must determine the student is eligible for special education and provides services to the student on the basis of the current individualized education program. The department reimburses for the costs exceeding $30,000 for special education and related services incurred by the school district and those by the ESD through the resolution process. The 17-18 High Cost Disability collection is open till March 4, 2019. This is your 17-18 actual costs used to reconcile your preliminary payment from last May. You can view last year's preliminary payments here. Access hyperlinks to training and instructional material. Also, please review Oregon administrative Rule to understand the requirements. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Together in service to students, [cid:image002.jpg at 01D4A412.0E5253B0] Oregon achieves . . . together! Message-ID: Dear Business Managers, I hope everyone is having a good new year so far. This is a reminder that the Technical Assistance Program (TAP) Grant Application period is officially open. You can submit your grant applications to ode.schoolfacilities at state.or.us for the following grants: * Seismic Assessment * Long-Range Facility Planning * Facility Assessment * Environmental Hazard Assessment The grant period will be open until 5:00 pm February 15, 2019. Results will be announced no later than March 15, 2019. We have received several questions from individuals filling out the applications and would like to provide some clarification. 1. Please keep the applications in electronic form. We do not need a wet signature on these applications. 2. If a district has started work that would qualify for a TAP grant in 2018, the district may use that work as a basis for a 2019 TAP Grant. The district will be in the same position as all other districts with regards to priority. There is no guarantee that the district will receive a grant. 3. Question 3 of the Environmental Hazard assessment is trying to determine if a school district has already completed all radon testing. If a school district has completed all radon testing for every building as required by 2016, then the answer is "No" because the school district has not conducted radon testing after 2016. If the district has not completed radon testing for all required building then the answer is "Yes" because the district has or will need to conduct testing after 2016. I understand this is confusing and we will work to improve that for the next round. Please find the applications attached. If you have any questions, please let me know. A couple of districts had questions regarding testing for lead in water at charter schools. For clarification, we have revised the instructions which are included as the first portion of the document. Please find attached a revised version of the Model HASS plan, which includes the instruction revisions. All changes made should clarify the model plan. Please note that if you have already started developing your district's HASS Plan using the previously distributed form, we will accept those forms. We appreciate your patience as we roll out this new program. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email or phone, whichever works best for you.
