<div><font face="Arial, sans-serif">As you know, the State of Oregon needs your data to satisfy federal reporting requirements under Section 1512 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. On September 10, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE)
opened its “Recovery Act Reporting Collection” tool so that districts and other sub-recipients can submit data needed to meet the federal requirements.</font></div>
<div><font face="Arial, sans-serif"> </font></div>
<div><font face="Arial, sans-serif">As noted in a communication to you dated September 11, there are two periods for which districts and other sub-recipients need to submit data – for the period ending June 30, 2009 and for the period ending September 30, 2009. Note
that each reporting period is cumulative from the date the award was first made. </font></div>
<div><font face="Arial, sans-serif"> </font></div>
<div><font face="Arial, sans-serif">For the ODE to meet the federal reporting deadline, districts and other sub-recipients must submit their data as follows: 1) data for the period ending June 30, 2009 are due by September 21, 2009 and 2) data for the period
ending September 30, 2009 are due by September 30, 2009.</font></div>

<div><font face="Arial, sans-serif">Attached please find a “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQ) document ODE staff have prepared in anticipation of questions you may have about the ODE collection. This document relies upon guidance issued by the federal Office
of Management and Budget, the U.S. Department of Education, and other authoritative sources. Please note the federal government may change its requirements or provide further clarification and we may have to change our data reporting system or guidance to you
as a result. If changes do occur, we will let you know as soon as possible. </font></div>
