<div>Recently the U.S. Department of Education (USED) sent a notification to the ODE reminding us of existing cash management requirements regarding federal payments, including requirements under the Cash Management Improvement Act of 1990 (CMIA) and under
the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR). </div>

<div>On June 15, 2010, USED's acting chief financial officer signed a memorandum (memo) for recipients of USED grants and cooperative agreements on the subject cash management. We were asked to share the memo with our sub-recipients.</div>

<div>In addition, USED created a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) on cash management for recipients of USED grants and cooperative agreements to supplement the memo above. USED requested we share this document with our sub-recipients. </div>
