<div>Last year’s SB 994 allowed districts to enroll students outside of their district. I am sure many of you are planning and preparing for these changes. From a statewide perspective, the overall ADMw may increase because of extended ADMw. Using extended
ADMw, a district receiving a student under open enrollment will increase its ADMw. This will not necessarily reduce the sending district’s extended ADMw because the sending district will use its prior year ADMw as that may be greater. This could result in an
increase in the statewide ADMw used as the basis for the 2012-13 estimates.</div>

<div>I would like districts to review their 2012-13 Estimate of Membership and Revenue collection in light of open enrollment. If you believe that your ADMr numbers are not accurate, please contact me. I will reopen your collection so you can provide me with
updates. The more data I have, the better the 2012-13 estimates will be so that districts can move forward with budgeting for the next year.</div>
