<div>Well it is a spring Friday here in Oregon. That must mean it is time for another estimate from your friends at ODE. Well I don’t want to disappoint so please find the latest 2015-16 estimates posted on our website. The good news is that you are getting

<div>The latest updates are as follows:</div>

<ol style="margin:0;padding-left:36pt;">

<li>The official State School Fund number was increased to $7.255 billion instead of the $7.235 billion of the previous estimate. The split is still at 50/50 for the two years in the biennium.</li><li>The additional ESL carve-out for 2015-17 has been included. The total carve-out is $12.5 million over the biennium so $6.75 million per year.</li><li>The free lunch subsidy carve-out has been included. The legislature provided additional state funding to provide free lunches to all students who qualify for reduced lunch. Total carve-out is $2.3 million or $1,197,797 per year</li><li>The 11% Cap Waiver calculation has been updated using the latest numbers which are 2013-14.</li></ol>

<div>The biggest change in the estimate is the inclusion of 4,000 additional weights. As some of you know, Oregon Connections Academy (ORCA) is changing districts this year. Because of extended ADMw, the district that ORCA is leaving will receive last year’s

ADMw instead of this year’s. Additionally, the district where ORCA is relocating will receive the increased ADMw for this year. The result is an increase of 4,000 weights to the system. The reason the previous estimates did not include these additional weights

is because the move was not finalized. Now that it has been finalized the districts have updated their weights.</div>
