<p class="MsoNormal">I have two messages for you this morning. The first is to let you know that the 2018-19 Budget Training Webinar will be held tomorrow, April 24<sup>th</sup>, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. I anticipate the training will be 45-60 minutes in length
and will cover PBAM Updates, Budget submission to ODE, Budget law basics, and the four phases of the budget process. Access to GoToMeeting and the training handouts will be posted at
<a href="https://district.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=267">https://district.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=267</a>. For those unable to attend tomorrow, an audio version of the training will be posted with the PowerPoint (handouts) on the District Website
at the link given which takes you to the “Video Training – 2017-2018” page. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The second item is to let you know that the 2017 edition of the PBAM has been adopted by the State Board of Education and is posted on the “School Finance – Documents and Manuals” page on ODE’s website (<a href="http://www.oregon.gov/ode/schools-and-districts/grants/Pages/Financial-Budgeting-and-Accounting.aspx">http://www.oregon.gov/ode/schools-and-districts/grants/Pages/Financial-Budgeting-and-Accounting.aspx</a>
- scroll to the last section). The difference between the 2016 Edition and the 2017 Edition is new Appendixes G and H. Appendix G is recommended guidelines for new program accounting such as Measures 98 and 99. Appendix H shows past-reporting trends for
coding at the school level and coding at the district level. Both appendixes address changes in reporting to meet new state and federal laws. The appendixes are recommendations to assist districts needing to transition to school-level coding. The final
discretion for coding is left to the school district.<o:p></o:p></p>
