official attendance count for the conference is 475. The general consensus was
that this was a worthwhile endeavor. Those who attended the conference and
staffed the booth had the opportunity to chat with attendees about our
services, hand out brochures and a short blurb about Capital Librarians appears
in the exhibitor section of the conference schedule.<o:p></o:p></p>

the conference, Jane made contact with someone from the PCC Cascade Campus
about their program for Library & Media Center Paraprofessionals <a

12.0pt'>This program is for library and media assistants. Jane mentioned that
this program may have students who need mentoring/job shadowing experiences and
that she gave the instructor a brochure with our library/resource center

Lloyd has heard that Parks and Forestry are applying for a grant to digitize
their collections of historic photos.<o:p></o:p></p>

look into the possibility of creating a WEB site for Capital Librarians.<o:p></o:p></p>

Layne and set a date for a tour of Archives this spring. There are several new
employees at OSL who like a tour. We will include any Capital Librarian folks
who would like to attend.<o:p></o:p></p>

12.0pt'>Plan a future visit to each of the Cap Lib facilities; maybe include information
resource centers/collections located in other state agencies such as DOGAMI,
Agriculture, Parks, Forestry, etc.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>Provide training for state employees in how to use our various
collections and services. Connect with DAS Training to see if we could partner
with them in creating such a class.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"><span style='font-size:
12.0pt'>We might include a segment on finding state statistical resources produced
by various agencies. We might also offer training to legislative staff, with a
goal of helping them understand the difference between each library, scope of
collections, differences in procedures, etc. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
