Child Abuse Prevention Partnership General Meeting Minutes
April 21, 2010
 
Attendees:  Dede Henderson; Sally Joyce UVDN; Sara Holland, DCECPC;
Tamara Quamme, ADAPT; Karin Hardin, Healthy Start; Michael D*Angelo &
Diane Pietrzak, DHS; Elizabeth Droscher, Phoenix School; Cathryn Feral,
VISTA, UCAN; Angela Collar, Battered Person*s Advocacy
Minutes:  Minutes from the March 17, 2010 meeting were approved as
written.
Treasurer*s Report:  Dede Henderson reported that ESD and Creative
Images have been paid for printing services.  The account balance is
$9,463.98.
Dede asked for suggestions on a replacement for our post office box. 
Elizabeth agreed that she will talk with Ron about the possibility of
CAPP mail being sent to Phoenix.  
(On 4-22-2010 Elizabeth reported that Phoenix School agrees to receive
CAPP mail.  The new mailing address will be: CAPP, 3131 NE Diamond Lake
Blvd, Roseburg, OR  97470)
Together We Can Be 1 Community 4 Kids!:  Elizabeth Droscher reported
that the event is scheduled for April 27th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at
Phoenix School.  Event sponsors are CAPP, Rick*s Medical Supply, Oregon
Pacific Bank and Century 21 Real Estate * The Neil Company. Guest
speakers Sheriff Hanlin and District Attorney Rick Wesenberg will
encourage people to volunteer their time year round to help prevent
child abuse.  There will be success stories about Phoenix students
making a difference.  Greg Henderson is getting a basket together to
raffle off.  Tables are reserved for CASA, BPA, Health Start, Douglas
CARES, DCECPC, CAPP, Phoenix School, DHS, ADAPT, Healthy Kids, OPTIONS
and Head Start.  Michael D*Angelo will call Safe Haven and invite them
to join in.
Elizabeth requested help on Tuesday to set up prior to the event.
Diane moved and Karin seconded a motion to reimburse Phoenix School for
$350 to purchase food for the event.  The motion was unanimously
approved.
Greg & Elizabeth will be on the radio on Tuesday.
Diane agreed to call Carla Bee and ask if the UCC Sims participants can
make reminder phone calls to businesses on Monday.  Elizabeth will
invite school superintendents.  
Wildlife Safari * Celebrate Children:  Karin reported that all
arrangements and publicity for the April 24th Celebrate Children Event
are completed.  Wildlife Safari has gone the extra mile to make the
event special and enjoyable for all who attend.  We agreed that this
year each agency will send a letter of gratitude to Wildlife Safari.

Photo Release Form:   There is group consensus that CAPP should use a
release form for any photos taken at our events.  This will enable us to
use the photos in out outreach and public relations work.  Diane will
draft a release and send it to Karin and Elizabeth
Next meeting:  May 19, 2010.  If Kelly is not present, Michael D*Angelo
will facilitate the meeting.  Elizabeth is Michael*s back up.
