Meeting Minutes - June 15, 2011


Guest speakers, Capri Moore and Diane Kimball, presented information on how  parents and providers can mitigate potential dangers to children using the Internet.

Summer Meeting Schedule:  CAPP will meet in July.  There will be no meeting in August.

Rotary Club Duck Race:  The 2011 Duck Race Kickoff Event was held on June 2nd at Clint Newell's.  Corporate ticket sales start in June.  The cost to each corporate sponsor is $350.  Sue Van Vulkenburg, Napa Auto Parts, is Mama Duck this year.  The date of the race is August 27th.  The YMCA annual picnic is scheduled to take place in conjunction with the race.  This year's Rotary Club goal is $115,000.  There will be 5 recipient agencies who serve children under 5 years of age.
The Rotary Clubs invite CAPP agencies to set up an activity table for children on the day of the event.

CAPP T-Shirts:  The group is interested in pricing the cost of CAPP T-Shirts with "Child Abuse Prevention Partnership" on the back of the shirt and the individual's agency on the front.  Elizabeth will look into the cost to have the shirts printed.

September Meeting Agenda Item:  The group agreed that we will begin planning for the 2012 April Child Abuse Prevention Month activities at the September meeting.

Aaron Nigel Smith's Children's Concert is ready to go.  Planned by Healthy Start, this is the second annual concert.

Our next meeting is July 20th at Oregon Pacific Bank at 3 pm.
