Cyber Disruptors,
Looking forward to seeing you all at our meeting on Wednesday, April 8th, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.
We Need Your Feedback - Cinnamon will share the Oregon Cyber Disruption Workplan and highly values your feedback. We appreciate everyone who takes the time to offer valuable input. Feedback on workgroup operations, meeting format, presentations, and more is welcome. We want you all to be informed, engaged, and present at the next meeting.
Unauthorized Software Discussion - Our primary focus will be on unauthorized software. We would like to hear how you detect and respond to unwanted software, particularly Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM) tools. RMM threats have become prevalent because they are legitimate software, but they can be used maliciously to monitor users and carry out malicious activities.
End-of-Life (EOL) Systems & Software - Let's discuss Windows 10 and other end-of-life operating systems. Do your end users believe they will be taking their Windows 10 desktops with them into retirement next year? This discussion will focus on strategies to retire these systems from our environment or to isolate critical workloads that rely on end-of-life systems.
Information Sharing - We are still working to identify the best possible solution. This is a legal issue, and we are working to resolve it and ensure it works for all agencies. In the meantime, it's important to know your peers and who you can share information with. Use this group to build a collaborative network. Some of us will meet with the Alaska Disruption Group next month to discuss how they support information-sharing needs.
Presenters Welcome - We welcome anyone with an item to present. This workgroup is for all of us. If you have something you would like to present, please reach out, and we will schedule a dedicated time. We want to hear from you!
Membership - Please help us grow this group. Many agencies could benefit from the expertise and community it offers. Keep in mind, this is for public sector SLTT employees only — no contractors or MSPs at this time. We are an exclusive group.
Thank You,
Kevin Galusha, CISSP
