Hello-
Please review the attached draft Division 61 rules. These rules are scheduled for hearing at the June 23, 2011 Board meeting. This draft reflects the work of several different stakeholder groups.
These changes would:
	Add definitions for assisted living and residential care facilities for clarification.
	Broaden definition of on-line program to allow for on-line training for CNA 2 and medication aide training programs.
	Provide language clarification related to the process for reinstatement of active status after a training program has been on inactive status.
	Establish parameters related to on-line training for CNA 2 and medication aide training programs.
	Remove a barrier in the qualifications for the program director and primary instructor of medication aide training programs.
	Broaden clinical preceptor qualifications for the medication aide training program clinical experience.
	Increase the classroom/lab hours for medication aide training programs.
	Simplify the language related to the process for the student progression during the clinical experience in medication aide training programs.
	Require training program providers to be licensed with the Department of Education if they offer more than just the nursing assistant and medication aide training.
	Offer option to training programs to apply for exemption from licensing through the Department of Education if they only offer nursing assistant and medication aide training.
	Provide specific requirements for an enrollment agreement and disclosure statement.
	Add changes to policies and procedures to list of items requiring Board approval.
	Insert new standards related to organization and administration, e.g., financial viability and business practices.
