Hello-

On November 17, 2016, the Board approved the 2016 Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Test Advisory Panel (TAP) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) TAP recommendations. Essentially, the CMA exam remained the same. However, there were significant recommended changes to the CNA exam. The changes to the CNA exam will be implemented on July 1, 2017. Please refer to the Oregon Nursing Assistant Candidate Handbook effective July 1, 2017 located at http://hdmaster.com/testing/cnatesting/oregon/orformpages/ORCandidateHandbook2017.pdf for anyone who will be taking the exam after June 30, 2017. For your convenience, the changes are highlighted in gray.

Nursing assistant training program faculty are encouraged to register for one of the Headmaster Testing Workshops in April 2017. There is no limit on how many faculty can attend from one program; however, we will limit the registrations to 20 per session. Come prepared with your questions and ready to actively participate in the testing process. These workshops offer invaluable information and are only offered once a year. Contact Nancy Goodding at nancy.goodding at state.or.us<mailto:nancy.goodding at state.or.us> or me at debra.buck at state.or.us<mailto:debra.buck at state.or.us> to register for a session. The scheduled workshops are from 9 am to 3 pm on:

Friday, April 7, 2017 at Clackamas Community College, 7738 SE Harmony Rd, Milwaukie, OR 97222

Monday, April 10, 2017 at Klamath Community College, 7390 S 6th St., Klamath Falls, OR 97603- Building 6, Room H214

Candidates testing prior to July 1, 2017 will continue to be tested according to the current Oregon Nursing Assistant Candidate Handbook effective October 2015.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Debbie
