[Cnaprogram] Cultural Competency Continuing Education

Hello,

HB 2011 was approved in the 2019 Oregon Legislative Session.  The resulting statute, ORS 676.850, gave authority to regulatory boards to require cultural competency continuing education for applicants for initial or renewal licensure or certification.  The Board of Nursing will require two hours of cultural competency continuing education in the two years preceding an application for initial, renewal, reactivation, re-entry, or reinstatement of CNA certification as of July 1, 2021.

Licensed nurses in Oregon, will also need to meet this requirement upon  renewal, reactivation, re-entry, or reinstatement of their license, after July 1, 2021, per Division 31 of the Oregon Nurse Practice Act.
