<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>We received
notice yesterday that the Division 2, 62, and 63 rule changes approved by the
Board at the November 2010 Board Meeting are now effective as they have been
officially filed by the Secretary of State. The changes include:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>Division 2-
Elimination of fee to register CNA 2 graduates. In the future, CNA 2
training program instructors will submit the attached course summary form via
e-mail to register CNA 2 program graduates. Please follow the directions
at the top of the form. A hard copy of the course summary form with the
fees will no longer need to be submitted to the Board office.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>Division
62- Provides process for RNs, LPNs, and student nurses to obtain CNA 2.
These rules also provide for reactivation of CNA2. The Nurse Practice Act
on the Board’s website will be updated by the end of next week to reflect
these changes. The application forms to accommodate these changes are
under revision and will be found at <a
href="http://www.oregon.gov/OSBN/forms.shtml">http://www.oregon.gov/OSBN/forms.shtml</a><span
style='color:#1F497D'> </span>by the end of next week.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>Division
63- Eliminated the teaching and assignment of additional tasks to CNAs and
establishes CNA 2 core authorized duties. The Nurse Practice Act on the
Board’s website will be updated by the end of next week to reflect these
changes. Elaine Dinsel with Samaritan Health has created the attached
skill checklist. She is offering it to other CNA 2 Acute Care Training
Programs if they don’t want to “re-create the wheel”.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
