<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D">I attended a different Amigos online conference recently and thought it was excellent so it got me thinking. I should reach out to Amigos and see what online
platform they use. I’ve explored a little and my limited research took me to <a href="http://www.vconferenceonline.com/backpages/demovideoreg.html">
this one</a>. A few years ago I hosted an in person VR conference and we filled a 9-3 day with no problem. My goal for that was to share knowledge but also to have everyone meet f2f. I felt like we all worked together but didn’t really know each other.
It was a real hit with my community. Here’s the <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5-gN8jl3wgmSC1XTC1SYmxGYzg/view?usp=sharing">
conference schedule</a> so you can see the topics we covered. While I’d love to do that again I simply don’t have the time this year. Why I think hosting it online would be less work I’m not sure but… I think if we reach out across our communities we could
get an interesting series of sessions. We might even be able to get a good keynote speaker like Marie Radford who is a specialist in research into VR. Really it’s kind of a vague idea right now but hey, nothing ventured nothing gained right?<o:p></o:p></span></p>

in my head for a while was to host an online conference on the topic of Virtual Reference. I’ve attended a couple of online conferences in the last year and have felt them to be quite good. I think the software has progressed enough to now make this possible.
But since it would be held online it could be opened up way beyond Washington State. I’m thinking of putting it in as a work goal for next year but what I would really like is to have participants from all over – heck why not say the world!. The wider it
is opened up the more interesting presentation ideas we could get. I don’t think it would be very expensive to do (she says blithely). There are software packages that will help you manage multiple sessions etc. <o:p></o:p></p>
