There is a new scam spreading on social media that falsely promises extra SNAP benefits in exchange for clicking a link. This is a scam! Do not click the link or share any personal information - including your EBT card number or PIN.
Unfortunately, ODHS can no longer replace SNAP benefits that are stolen through electronic theft after Dec. 20, 2024, so it’s critical to take steps now to protect your benefits.
Here’s how to keep your EBT card safe:
* Inspect card readers carefully: Before swiping your card at an ATM or other card reader, check for anything unusual. Skimming devices are often placed on top of existing card readers.
* Keep your PIN secret: Never share your PIN or write it on your card. Cover the keypad whenever entering your PIN in a public setting.
* Change your PIN regularly: Get into the habit of updating your PIN often. This can help protect your account if someone does gain access to your card number.
* Monitor your EBT account activity: Make it a habit to check your account regularly for any unusual charges.
* Make sure to only use trusted resources to view and manage your EBT card. Only use the official ebtEDGE website and mobile app. ODHS does not endorse any other EBT management apps or websites.
* Freeze your card between uses: When you’re not using your EBT card, consider freezing it as an extra layer of protection. Simply unfreeze it when you’re ready to make a purchase. To do this, visit the ebtEDGE website or use the mobile app and look for "Freeze Card" under "Account Services."
* Block out-of-state and online purchases: You have the option to block transactions made outside of Oregon and online purchases to safeguard your card from unauthorized use. To do this, visit the ebtEDGE website or use the mobile app and look for “Protect My Account" under “Account Services." You can remove the blocks later.
* Don’t respond to suspicious texts: If you receive a text message asking for your EBT card number or PIN, ignore it. ODHS will never ask for your information this way.
* Avoid social media scams: Only trust posts and messages about benefits from official ODHS social media accounts.

Did you know that if you purchase your share with SNAP, you may be able to stretch your dollar even farther with Double Up Food Bucks?
For eligible shares purchased using SNAP benefits, the Pacific NW CSA Coalition will match HALF the cost of your share from participating farms through our Double Up Food Bucks program.
The Double Up Food Bucks money goes directly to your CSA farmer, making CSA more affordable while helping farmers earn a living. For example, a CSA share normally priced at $650 will only cost you $325 with Double Up Food Bucks.
Eligibility:
* Only Oregon Trail Cards with SNAP benefits (not cash benefits) can be used to purchase the shares.
* Double Up Food Bucks are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis only.
* Double Up Food Bucks can only be used for fruits and vegetables.
How to use Double Up Food Bucks:
* Choose a CSA farm that participates in Double Up Food Bucks from this list.
* Sign-up for the CSA directly with the farm.
* We'll send you paperwork that you will need to complete and mail back to PNWCSA.
* That's it! Once the season begins, the CSA Coalition will process your SNAP payments and provide the Double Up Food Bucks directly to your farm.

At this time, there are no changes to Oregon Health Plan (OHP/Medicaid), SNAP, TANF or employment-related day care benefits. People should keep their appointments and seek health care as usual. People who have SNAP and TANF will get their regular monthly benefits.
