Learn tomato preservation techniques and take home a jar of your own handmade salsa. A light farm-to-table meal will be provided courtesy of the Oakridge Community Farmers Market. This month's dinner, we will be preparing cold soba noodles, avocado and cucumber rolls, and California rolls! We will have edamame appetizers, with salted and chili garlic options. For dessert, we'll be serving a green tea ice cream and a non-dairy vanilla ice cream.

Our intention with these dinners is to create opportunities for BIPOC folks to be in community and share joy—this space is open to anyone who identifies as BIPOC. We ask that when sharing flyers and information about these dinners, folks keep that intention in mind ❤️

Changes are coming to SNAP in Oregon – Join Hunger Free Oregon this Thursday for a free webinar to discuss the changes to SNAP time limits and what they mean for you and your community.

Hunger Free Oregon will explain the SNAP time limit policy, the new rules, and what is being done to advocate for the end of the SNAP time limit policy.

The SNAP time limit policy restricts people between the ages of 18 and 54 to just 3 months from receiving food benefits if they struggle to find work or are underemployed. Most counties in Oregon have been able to waive these requirements over the past few years. Unfortunately, time limits are returning to Benton, Clackamas, Hood River, Multnomah, Washington and Yamhill Counties (NOT LANE COUNTY YET) on September 1st, 2025. The Congressional budget bill will further expand time limits statewide in the coming months.
