Hello District 5 Self-Sufficiency, Oregon Eligibility Partnership, and Child Welfare Staff and Community Partners,

Tuesday Tidbits are short, specific info bites you can use and share to increase collective knowledge of Lane County's wide-ranging community resource landscape.  Below you will find Mental and Physical Health resources being offered in and for our local community.

[cid:image004.png at 01DC169B.2D42B280] The Oregon Health Authority will be posting a low barrier grant opportunity in the coming months.
The grant will help establish learning communities across Oregon, bringing together community-based organizations and health systems committed to exploring partnerships and planning for future Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Program (HVIP) implementation. Funding may be used for staffing, planning efforts, training, and certification of credible messengers with lived experience . These communities of practice will support counties actively working on launching HVIP services and those in the early stages of building readiness and capacity.
OHA will be hosting four virtual listening sessions in September to share more information about this opportunity and answer questions.  Please see the RFGA Flyer attached for more information.

[cid:image008.jpg at 01DC169B.2D42B280]Options Counseling and Family Services is offering a Building Resilience for Individuals through Trauma Education (BRITE) Group via Zoom starting on September 30, at 3-4:30 pm that will meet each Tuesday through December 16th.

Our Community Health Workers (CHWs) are certified assisters who can help folks sign up for insurance through OHP and Marketplace. They are also able to help unhoused community members (and those who are under threat of being unhoused) get on Lane County's centralized waitlist through Front Door Assessments. Our CHW program was created to help Lane County's communities of Black, Indigenous, People of Color navigate medical care; we can help community members by attending medical exams with them, sending appointment reminders, helping with transportation, and more. We are also working to create a culturally responsive and sensitive network to refer clients to, including SUDs and behavioral health treatment and beyond.
