WHEN: July 28 – August 22, Monday – Friday 10am – 3pm
WHERE: Most dates at Clear Lake Elementary, with field trips and outdoors sessions across local parks and community spaces

The Youth Summer Bridge Program is an exciting, immersive five-week experience for incoming 9th grade students who identify as Black, African-American, and youth of color. This program empowers students to build confidence, connect with mentors, and develop lifelong skills—all while having fun and preparing for high school success. Food & snacks provided.

WHEN: August 2nd, 11am – 2pm
WHERE: Coiner Park, Cottage Grove

This free annual community event is coming up! It features games, crafts, bounce houses, face painting, snow cones, cotton candy, and more.

Free backpacks full of school supplies will be provided to South Lane students (while supplies last), and the event is in partnership with the City of Cottage Grove’s Emergency Preparedness Awareness Fair, local churches, and businesses.

WHEN: Starting August 6th, 10am – 12pm
WHERE: Center for Family Development, 1234 High St, Eugene

This 6-week group is for people who are pregnant or in postpartum (up to 6 months). The group focuses on prenatal and postpartum self-care, emotional support, mood and stress management, healthy bonding strategies, and infant development education in a peer-supported setting.

CASA of Lane County is excited to once again partner with the Eugene Emeralds to host a baseball camp for children in foster care. This is the second year of the event, and it’s been a wonderful enrichment opportunity for the youth involved.

This camp is free for 7-14 year olds. Children will get a free t-shirt, lunch provided, and one ticket to attend that night's baseball game. August 9th is Bluey Night. We need one form submitted per household. Multiple kids from the same household may all be submitted on the same form. RESOURCES

Healthy eating throughout the summer helps students grow strong and do well in school. That’s why we’re happy to share that the Oregon Summer EBT program is back for summer 2025! This program gives families money to help buy groceries when school is out. Each eligible student can get $120 for food over the summer. Benefits began issuing on May 22.

Who can get this help?

A child may automatically qualify if:

•    The family gets SNAP, TANF, or Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) and meets income rules.
•    The child attended a school with the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP), and qualifies for free or reduced-price meals.
•    The child is in foster care, part of a migrant education program, experiencing houselessness, in a qualified Head Start, or part of the Food Program on Indian Reservations.

A child may be eligible by application if:
•    The family meets the income requirements for free or reduced-price meals at school, and
•    The child attends a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP).

What else should you know?

•    Families with children automatically eligible for Summer EBT will receive the benefits on May 22 on an Oregon EBT card.
•    Children that got Summer EBT in 2024 through an approved application don’t need to apply again. They receive the benefits on May 22, 2025.
•    Families with children who are not automatically eligible for benefits can apply by Sept. 3, 2025. You can apply online or with a paper application. Go to sebt.oregon.gov for details.
•    Families will get the benefits on an Oregon EBT card, which can be used at most grocery stores, farmers markets, and other places that accept EBT.
•    Everyone should protect their Oregon EBT card and benefits from electronic theft by following a few simple tips. Stolen Summer EBT benefits can’t be replaced.

•    Please note: School-aged children who are automatically eligible for SEBT due to being part of an approved Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)—with more than $0 monthly allotment—Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), OHP Medicaid (plans with less than 185 percent Federal Poverty Level) or Child Welfare Foster Care case after April 14, 2025, will have benefits issued Sept. 15, 2025.
