WHEN: June 10th, 12 - 2pm

This 7-week group is for parents with children ages 3-6 years. The group focuses on managing challenging behaviors using positive discipline strategies and proactive approaches to parenting.

Sessions cover information about understanding challenging behaviors, developing consistent and logical consequences, building positive relationships, implementing successful family routines, and teaching self-regulation and emotion regulation strategies to children.

Parents may also receive a certificate of completion. This group is FREE for all participants thanks to a grant from the Early Childhood Hub of Lane County.

WHERE: Camp Baker, near Dunes city, just south of Florence

The Friends & Family Camp<https://www.kindtree.org/camp> is designed around the needs of those living with autism. Parents and caregivers can bring their loved ones with autism or other intellectual disabilities and relax with them over the weekend, knowing that they are in a safe and nurturing environment. Guests who are independent can attend on their own. Those who are under 18 and those who need daily help must attend with family or caregivers.

Scheduled activities include arts and crafts, karaoke, piñata, campfires, late night movies, concerts, talent show, outdoor games, swimming and canoeing on Siltcoos Lake, and more.

The Summer Food Program is a federally funded program through the USDA that provides free, nutritious meals to youth aged 2 to 18 years old during the summer months. This critical program picks up where school breakfast and lunch programs leave off to help children get nutritious food to eat over the summer. FOOD for Lane County serves free lunches at over 30 sites in parks, community centers, schools, etc.

We invite all children to eat lunch for free during the summer months. Each summer, FFLC serves thousands of lunches and breakfasts to children through the Summer Food Program.

Connected Lane County<https://connectedlane.org/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhOvw_NOCjAMVHDStBh022i58EAAYASAAEgJjJvD_BwE> is pleased to announce the availability of Direct Cash Transfers as Prevention (DCT-P) funds to support young people at risk of experiencing homelessness. Through the State of Oregon's Youth Experiencing Homelessness Program, we have received $100,000 in funding, which will allow us to assist at least 33 youth in Lane County with one-time cash payments aimed at stabilizing housing crises.

We are now accepting referrals<https://go.connectedlane.org/dctp> from youth-serving organizations. Referral partners must complete an intake form on behalf of young people aged 16-24 who are at risk of becoming unhoused. Please note that submission of the form does not guarantee funding, as each application will be reviewed for eligibility. After review, the referral partner and the client will receive an email with further guidance.
