We invite proposals from<BR>groups who are beginning to be involved in policy advocacy work as well as<BR>those who have been doing this for some time and are willing and able to<BR>take their work to the<BR>next level.<BR><BR>KPNW has dedicated a minimum of $750,000 over a three-year period for this<BR>initiative and intends to award a portfolio of five to eight grants in the<BR>$30,000 to $50,000 range annually as a result of this competitive RFP.<BR>Grant size will depend on experience, need, level of community support, and<BR>a clear plan and ability to demonstrate outcomes. Projects maybe funded for<BR>one year or up to three years. Grant awards will not exceed $50,000 per<BR>year, up to a maximum of $150,000 over a three-year period. Multi-year<BR>requests will be considered for up to three years (ending in 2014).<BR>Subsequent years of continual funding will depend on adequate performance<BR>in previous years.<BR><BR>KPNW is mandated by the IRS to support our service areas in both Washington<BR>and Oregon. These counties include:<BR> Washington: Clark, Cowlitz, parts of Wahkiakum* and Skamania*<BR>counties.<BR> Oregon: Clackamas, Columbia, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Washington,<BR> parts of *Columbia,*Hood River,* Linn,* and *Benton counties.<BR><BR>*Organizations may email community.benefit@kp.org to verify that they<BR> located in a Kaiser Permanente service area.<BR><BR>KPNW Oral Health Initiative RFP will provide funding to assist regional<BR>safety net partners in creating and implementing strategies to support oral<BR>health initiatives that address the following four priority areas:<BR>1. Increase access to oral health care by removing barriers that exist<BR> in health services and/or prevention and educational initiatives.<BR>2. Policy improvements at the institutional and/or government levels<BR> that will improve oral health in the proposed area.<BR>3. Enhance oral health education and prevention messages and<BR> interventions targeting consumers, public health, and medical<BR> professionals (e.g., pediatricians, dentists, hygienists, health<BR> educators, parents, and guardians).<BR>4.
