Come Visit the New and Improved REAL website!
On February 13, 2009 the Oregon Department of Education released the newest version of the REAL (Resources for Educational Achievement and Leadership) website http://www.ode.state.or.us/teachlearn/real/ . Since its inception in 2005, REAL has been a valuable tool for educators, administrators, parents and others as they work to provide standards-based education to Oregon students. As the result of feedback from the field, changes have been made to streamline REAL and make the site more responsive to the needs of its audience. The primary changes to the site include:
* Merger of Searchable Standards and Standards by Design which allows users to choose the format for their customized standards (printable PDF booklet or export to Excel) www.ode.state.or.us/teachlearn/real/standards/sbd.aspx<http://www.ode.state.or.us/teachlearn/real/standards/sbd.aspx>
* Addition of 2007 K-8 mathematics standards and 2009 science standards (when adopted)
* Diploma toolkits to assure that all individuals who have a stake in Oregon's educational system have the tools they need to make the Oregon Diploma a success for all students. www.ode.state.or.us/teachlearn/real/diploma/toolkits.aspx<http://www.ode.state.or.us/teachlearn/real/diploma/toolkits.aspx>
* A link to the updated Oregon Skills Sets website
Additional information about the changes to REAL can be found in the REAL Users Guide www.ode.state.or.us/teachlearn/real/documents/read_users_guide.pdf<http://www.ode.state.or.us/teachlearn/real/documents/read_users_guide.pdf> .
