APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JUNE 26, 2015 The Oregon Department of Education is pleased to announce that applications are now available on the ODE website at http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=315 The Oregon Response to Instruction and Intervention (OrRtIi) project has supported districts across the state with the implementation of evidence-based multi-tiered systems of support in literacy, and has a proven history of effective support. The project will begin its 11th year in 2015-2016, and has provided training and technical assistance to over 84 districts in Oregon. Beginning in 2015-2016, a maximum of five districts that meet the application requirements will be selected to participate in the first elementary MATH cadre. The districts chosen will be those that demonstrate the highest level of readiness to successfully extend their RTI system into math. OrRtIi is now funded, in part, by the legislature to advance the following State of Oregon educational goals as written in House Bill 3232: ? Close the achievement gap that exists between historically underserved student groups, as defined by the board by rule. ? Assist public education in all regions of this state. ? Develop and disseminate evidence-based models and best practices that are likely to improve student outcomes. ? Collect data to monitor student progress. ? Establish networks that allow for the replication of successful practices across this state. The Tigard-Tualatin School District, which has been ODE's partner over the past ten years in this endeavor, will now begin working with up to five districts to implement a multi-tiered system of support for math. Districts must have successfully participated, or are currently successfully participating, in the OrRtIi project for literacy. Districts must be implementing an evidenced-based core curriculum in math that is aligned to the CCSS. The technical assistance and support will include training and on-site consultation, and will address culturally responsive practices. Districts will be required to demonstrate fidelity to the RTI process.
