Registration Open for A Free New Beginning Administrator Mentor Workshop!
Date:  September 26 - 28, 2018
Location:  TBD (Salem-Metro Area)

Is your district thinking about starting a mentoring and induction program for your administrators?  Does your district have a mentoring program and would like to be able to provide their own professional learning to their mentors?  Does your district have a lot of beginning administrators that need support?  Then this workshop is for you!

The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is offering the following free professional learning opportunities for any mentor/coach.  The workshop will be offered in Salem-Metro area. The first session is 2 days with a third ½ day Trainer-the-Trainer session.  The Train-the-Trainer session is designed to support facilitators to take the materials back to their district/consortium/region and present the professional learning workshops.

In addition, there will be online 2 hour sessions throughout the year and an additional spring in-person full day session.  The dates are still to be determined.
These professional learning sessions are a targeted professional development series designed to advance the skills, abilities, and knowledge of mentors and coaches. The sessions are designed to ensure that experienced administrators, who are recruited to mentor beginning administrators, become effective mentors.

Registration Open for Free Integration of a Culture of Wellness through Building Resilient Teams Workshop!
Date:  September 24 & 25, 2018
Location:  Lane Community College

The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is offering the following free professional learning opportunity for any district.  The workshop will be offered at Lane Community College.

The workshop will focus on how to support educators, with a focus on beginning educators, on coping with the stresses of the profession to lower burnout rates and chronic health conditions impacting job satisfaction, retention, and ultimately educators' ability to foster positive learning outcomes for the students they serve.

The first day will be professional learning with Francoise Mathieu.  Francoise is internationally known expert on compassion fatigue and resiliency.  The second day is by invitation only for teams to develop action plans for taking the information back to their region/district.
