It is designed to support high school student participation in the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (<i>FIRST</i>) Robotics Program. Grants are administered by the Oregon Department of Education (ODE).<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal>Oregon public high schools including charter schools and alternative high school programs housed at an Education Service District or community college can qualify for a grant of up to $10,000 per school. This funding will be awarded to start new teams and to help sustain existing <i>FIRST</i> Tech Challenge (FTC) and <i>FIRST</i> Robotics Competition (FRC) teams. <span style='color:#1F497D'><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Grant applications are due on September 22, 2011.
