Hello Everyone,
This is a friendly reminder that the functionality sessions for Novices
will be taking place Thursday, April 19th. Please let Joy Sebastian
know if you plan to attend so that she can plan accordingly.
Again this year SFMS, SARS and OSPS are partnering to learn from
agencies the answers to the following question:
What functionality are agencies looking for in a financial system,
datamart, and payroll system that they do not have today?
Although we did not meet everyone's needs we feel very good about last
year's interactions and successes. We are excited about the
opportunities and directions the answers to this question will provide
us this year. As expected, we do not have additional resources, but may
be able to find creative ways to meet your needs and are ready for the
challenge.
We have scheduled three meetings as follows:
Manager* 1:30 to 4:30 on 3/21 in DAS Exec
Building, Conference Room A
Expert** 1:30 to 4:30 on 4/5 in DAS Exec
Building, Conference Room A
Novice*** 1:30 to 4:30 on 4/19 in DAS Exec
Building, Conference Room A
The meetings will be broken into three distinct sections
1:30 - 2:30 SFMA discussions
2:30 - 3:30 Datamart discussions
3:30 - 4:30 OSPS discussions
Agency staff will only be expected to attend the section or sections
that are relevant.
The meeting objective is to accurately capture agencies' suggestions
regarding the less than ideal functionalities of the systems. Follow-up
meetings or communications will be sent to assure we heard you correctly
and then to discuss options for solutions.
*For the purposes of these meetings a manager is responsible for the
work of others. We want to know what tools, reports, and/or screens
would make your life easier?
**For the purposes of these meetings an expert is defined as a State of
Oregon employee that has been using the system for more than five years
and is performing complex transactions. We want to know what types of
transactions or reporting mechanisms create the most stress for you and
why.
***For the purposes of these meetings a novice is defined as a State of
Oregon employee that has been using the system for one to five years.
It is important for us to capture the kinds of data entry and other
related challenges you experience.
Please share this with others that may be interested in attending this
workgroup and let me or Joy Sebastian know the attendance plan for your
agency.
Thank you,
Aaron Wallace
