OBIEE users,

I wanted to send out a few reminders to help us with the additional usage of OBIEE.

First, please remember there are more users accessing OBIEE each day and as we ramp up make sure to be aware of 'out of control' queries. These are queries that are running longer then they should. Queries, in OBIEE, will run approximately the same amount of time as their Hyperion version. Therefore, we need you to stop the query if it has ran for an extended period of time. To accomplish this task, click the 'here' option within the Results section, where it states, 'Searching...To cancel, click here'.

In addition, if you are from a large agency, it is highly recommended to use a small agency as a filter when you are initially building your analysis file. Once the file is complete, including formatting and table/pivot creation, you will update your filters to include your agency. This process will greatly increase your query build time.

Also, closing out of OBIEE by closing the internet application does not stop the query from running. Therefore, if you were forced to close during a query process, please contact Datamart Support. This is very helpful to not put unnecessary strain on the OBIEE server.

Thanks for your understanding,
Aaron Wallace
