The following tip may seem simple; however, it can really help OBIEE queries run faster.

Tip:
Whenever you are creating an analysis (query), you must include all filter fields in the 'selected columns' section. You do not have to use all the fields on your Reports/Tables/Pivots (they can be excluded from view); but the field must be included as a selected column.

In the case below, four filters were used, therefore, all four need to be on the selected columns area. If even one is not, the query will run much slower.

Example:
Selected column area:
[cid:image001.png at 01DAC624.9F98BB40]

Filters:
[cid:image002.png at 01DAC624.9F98BB40]
