1. Within the week, DHS public health officials will send two smallpox
vaccination plans * one for Oregonians in general, the other for health care
workers -- to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

2. The DHS public health laboratory has confirmed the first influenza case of
the season, a case of influenza A in a Yamhill County teen-ager. The good
