1. The Legislature has authorized DHS to establish a federally financed
tracking system for infants who do not pass a hearing screening and those who
are found to have a hearing loss. Read the news release:

2.  DHS is preparing to sign a six-month contract with the St. Helens-based
Community Action Team, Inc., to deliver senior services in Columbia County.
The state's prior contractor, Columbia County Council of Senior Citizens,
Inc., resigned effective June 30.
