[DV_listserv] Expert Witness Information

[Domestic Violence issues]

Hello,
 
This is a start to our effort to create a list of "experts" who have
either testified or who you would recommend as an expert witness. We
have had three responses so far:
 
 Dara Pearson, Women's Advocate; Janet Huerta, Executive Director
(Saving Grace) (Deschutes Co.)
Kim Shay - in private practice now (testified about "BWS"); Kim used to
work at Mid-Valley Women's Crisis Center (Marion Co.)

Shannon Williams has testified as an expert when she worked for Women's
Crisis Support team (Josephine County)
 
 
I would also add that DOJ is hoping to send a number of officers to an
upcoming FLETC training on How to Become an Expert Witness. The
expectation would be that those officers would also participate in the
creation of a DV Expert Curriculum specific to officers (akin to the DRE
program that has been very successful in DUII cases).  A number of
officers have already expressed their interest, but if you or someone
you know is interested, please email me.
