You are invited to attend this free domestic violence training.
This training will focus on new tools and resources for working with
survivors of domestic violence who experience co-occurring addictions
and mental health diagnosis. The content will address the specific needs
of survivors in inpatient and/or outpatient treatment, screening tools,
safety planning and discharge planning and risk factors specific to
addictions and mental health. 
 
Training Goals: 

Increase knowledge of the needs of domestic violence survivors with
co-occurring mental health diagnosis and addictions. 
Learn specific resources and tools for screening, intervention and
safety planning tools for use in the clinical addictions treatment
setting. 
Learn ways to incorporate domestic violence information into addictions
and trauma support groups
Time for case consultation and review. 
 
About Our Trainer:
Patti Bland, M.A., CCDC, is director of the Train the Trainer Project
for the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault in
Juneau. Patti is also an Associate for the Vera Institute of Justice in
NY and serves as a consultant for the University of Northern Iowa
Graduate School of Social Work Integrated Services Program.
