Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Awareness Month
February is Teen Dating Awareness Month, a national effort to raise
awareness about abuse in youth relationships and promote programs that
prevent it throughout the month.
The repercussions of teen dating violence are impossible to ignore, they
hurt not just the young people victimized but also their families,
friends, schools, and communities. Throughout February, organizations
and individuals nationwide are coming together to highlight the need to
educate young people about healthy relationships, teach healthy
relationship skills and prevent the devastating cycle of abuse.
WinterFest and Ways You Can Support Saving Grace!
OnPoint Community Credit Union Bend WinterFest presented by Mt. Bachelor
will take place at the Old Mill February 18-20. Buttons are required for
entry into the event, and can be purchased now for $6 each ($7 at the
door). Proceeds from button sales benefit Saving Grace.
Between now and the event you will receive great discounts by flashing
your WinterFest button at participating locations. Visit
www.bendwinterfest.com for more information regarding buttons sales and
discount locations.
In conjunction with their WinterFest sponsorship, OnPoint will make an
additional donation to Saving Grace of up to $1,000! Become a Facebook
fan of OnPoint by February 18th to help them reach their goal of 400
fans and $400 will go towards Saving Grace. Become an OnPoint member and
they will waive the membership fee and donate $10 to Saving Grace (up to
$600) for each new membership opened at any of their Deschutes County
branches.
