Here is information from Wallowa county about mutual restraining orders
and bail amounts in dv cases:
#1 - Our judges do not issue mutual restraining orders. In my four
years, there have been two instances when the court issued restraining
orders to both parties after each one applied separately. In both
cases, the female requested a hearing, and the male's RO was upheld.
One of these was within the last three weeks, and I watched part of the
hearing. I didn't think the facts warranted the RO, but evidently the
judge did.
Having said all that, our jurisdiction does not have a written policy or
protocol regarding mutual restraining orders.
#2 - Our judges routinely set bail for misdemeanor DV cases @ $5,000 and
the same for violations of an RO.
