HEY, PROSECUTORS!

As you know, the ODAA summer conference is coming up (August 4-5th at Sunriver).

Like last year, I will be hosting a DV training the day before the official start of ODAA (DV training is on August 3rd).

This year's training has a great agenda focusing on Strangulation (presenters will include Chief Deputy Medical Examiner from Benton County, Jennifer Schindell and Deputy Chief of Salem Police Department, Steve Bellshaw).

As you (should) know, HB 2940 just recently passed both the House and Senate and is awaiting the Governor's signature. This bill will make the crime of Strangulation a felony in certain circumstances. This year's DV training will provide a lot of fantastic information to help you not ONLY prosecute your strangulation cases more effectively, but also help YOU help your officers in their investigation of these types of cases.

Please sign up as soon as possible so I have a good idea of how many participants there will be. All of you should have received your registration forms for this training (or your office managers should have them, as well).
